DILI, 16 august 2021 (TATOLI)-The Bairo Pite Health Clinic conducted VCCT to 294 people from January 2021 to the end of July, identifying 16 people with positive HIV/AIDS.
The Coordinator of the HIV/SIDA Program at Bairo Pite Health Clinic, Mendizio da Costa Tilman, said from 2003 to date, there are 317 HIV/AID patients registered in Bairo Pite Health Clinic of this number 67 were confirmed dead.
Tilman informed that Voluntary Confidential Counseling Testing (VCCT) continues to serve people with HIV/AIDS at Bairo Pite Health Clinic during this time.
“Bairo Pite Health Clinic conducted VCCT with a total of 294 people from January 2021 to the end of July, identifying 16 people of positive HIV/AIDS,” He said.
From 16 people living with HIV/AIDS, they are now following a program of taking the medication regularly to be able to immunize their bodies against people with HIV/AIDS.
Bairo Pite Health Clinic serves them well to take medication regularly, this medication program is distributed to them for 1 month and is controlled by medical experts at Bairo Pite Health Clinic during this time.
Bairo Pite Health Clinic also collaborates with Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV) and one of the Australian Health Clinics named ART in Vera Crux which has been treating people with HIV / AIDS in Timor Leste.
In Timor Leste there are VCCT namely VCCT Bairo Pite Health Clinic, HNGV, and ART from Australia, therefore we always coordinate in providing services for people with HIV/AIDS in Timor Leste and we also prepare accurate data for the Ministry of Health to seek a solution.
From 2003 to 2021, more than 1240 people with HIV/AIDS were recorded nationally and 118 of them were confirmed dead.
Therefore, it is expected that all adults are aware and do not have free sex because it can cause HIV/AIDS because it loses control, but regrets always come later because this disease does not have a specific medicine in the world.
