DILI, 03 september 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste, today, records 196 infections, 251 recoveries, and the active cases were 4.429.
Of the new cases, 109 were reported in Dili, while the rest were detected in the municipalities, including 24 in Baucau, 19 in Ermera, 12 in Manatuto, 10 in Lautem, six in Liquica, five in Bobonaro, four each in Manufahi, and Covalima, and three in Viqueque.
The spokesperson of Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK), Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said 30.1 percent of today’s cases were symptomatic.
Araujo informed 20 percent of the new cases are fully vaccinated citizens, while 7 percent had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccines.
He said among the new cases, 160 were between the ages of 12 and 59, including 30 cases under 20 and six elderly persons over 60. These new cases are made up of 110 men and 86 women.
Araujo informed that 99 of Covid-19 cases had been admitted to Vera Cruz Isolation Center, Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV), Lahane Hospital, and other isolation centers across the territory for intensive treatment, with 15 people in critical condition, three of whom required ventilation.
In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 594 PCR tests, including 90, sentinel surveillance tests, 155 through contact tracing, 84 via random screening, 175 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 62 for the international travel authorization and 28 in quarantines.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 15.4 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili 37.2, Baucau 16.5, Viqueque 8.7, Lautem 7.9, and Bobonaro 7.0.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus as the SIJK’s records showed cases are again mounted in Dili, Ermera, and several municipalities.
Health authorities had warned that Delta variants have already spread in the communities, calling on citizens over 18 to get vaccinated: “Vaccination is the only way to combat the Covid-19.”
There has been a total of 17.379 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 12.876 recoveries, active cases were 4.429 and 74 deaths, according to SIJK’s data.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 52.3 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 27.4 percent have also received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
