DILI, 07 September 2021 (TATOLI)– Secretary of State for the National Liberation Combatants, Gil da Costa Monteiro “Oan Soru” said the MALC team has completed the verification data across 11 municipalities including RAEOA.
“Based on the verification data from the MALC 124,900 new combatants that have been recorded in the MALC ‘s database, It is estimated that there will be the changes in the number as verification of data is still ongoing in all municipalities while in Dili the collection of data is postponed due to the pandemic,” Oan Soru told reporters at the Ministry of Finance Aitarak – Laran today.
Oan Soru explained that the verification of data from Combatants to ensure whether they were involved in the fight for independence at that time.
“Verification of data is based on the name of those who were recorded by MALC in 2009 and 2021, MALC will continue to re-verify for them to receive their right from the government following their services and dedication for the independence,” said.
