DILI, 13 september 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste, today, records one more death, 82 new cases, 174 recoveries, and the active cases were 3.013.
Of the new cases, 44 were reported in Dili, while the rest were detected in the municipalities, including 11 in Baucau, nine in Bobonaro, seven in Manufahi, five in RAEOA, three in Viqueque, two in Ainaro, and one in Ermera.
The spokesperson of SIJK, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said 57.3 percent of today’s cases were symptomatic.
Araujo informed that 22 percent of the new cases are fully vaccinated citizens, while 11 percent had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccines.
He said among the new cases, 68 were between the ages of 12 and 59, including eight cases under 20 and six elderly persons over 60. These new cases were made up of 35 men and 47 women.
Araujo informed that 81 of Covid-19 cases had been admitted to Vera Cruz Isolation Center, Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV), Lahane Hospital, and other isolation centers across the territory for intensive treatment, with 12 people in critical condition, five of whom required ventilation.
In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has carried out 216 PCR tests, including 19 sentinel surveillance tests, 24 through contact tracing, 31 via random screening, 37 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 58 for the international travel authorization and 47 in quarantines.
Today, SIJK registered one more death in Timor-Leste.
The deceased was a man in her 60s, who was diagnosed with Covid-19 this morning and admitted to the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV). He passed away today at around 1 am local time.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 9.7 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Dili 22.2, Baucau 10.5, Bobonaro 10.3, and RAEOA 10.1.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus as the SIJK’s records showed cases are again mounted in Dili, Ermera, and several municipalities.
Health authorities had warned that the Delta variant has already spread in the communities, calling on citizens over 18 to get vaccinated: “Vaccination is the only way to combat the Covid-19.”
There has been a total of 18.597 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 15.489 recoveries, active cases were 3.013, and 96 deaths, according to SIJK’s data.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 53.6 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 30.2 percent have also received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
