He said that the 1500 oxygen cylinders were purchased with the Covid-19 budget.
“Today, an inspection would be carried out to see the condition of all the oxygen cylinders. After the inspection, these oxygen cylinders would be refilled with oxygen by the companies shortly and distributed to the hospitals and isolation centers.
“The budget for the purchase of the oxygen cylinders was around US$60.000,” said Borges.
He said due to shortages of oxygen cylinders experienced in many countries, saying, therefore, Timor-Leste, through the Ministry of Health wanted to secure enough oxygen cylinders to save the patients.
“Ministry of Health through the Covid-19 budget committed to acquire and secure enough oxygen cylinders to be distributed to hospitals. This is to ensure that one hospital will get up to 10 oxygen cylinders,” said Borges.
