DILI, 02 september 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded one more death, 28 new COVID-19 cases, 21 recoveries, and the active cases are 750, Rui Maria de Araujo Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK) says.
According to today’s figure, seven new cases were detected in capital Dili, 20 in Baucau, and one in RAEOA.
Of the 28 new cases, 36 percent were fully vaccinated citizens, and 11 percent have received at least one dose of the vaccine. These new cases are made up of 18 men and 10 women.
Araujo said the majority of the newly detected cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, including one case under 20, adding 14.2 percent were symptomatic.
Araujo has given details on the patient who had lost her live to the Covid-19.
A woman in her 50s is from RAEOA. She was diagnosed with Covid-19 on september 27 and was under intensive treatment at the RAEOA Isolation Center. She died yesterday at 4pm local time.
There are 30 people with COVID-19 in hospital and five of those are in critical condition, with one on a ventilator.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 50 PCR tests, including 21 through contact tracing, 15 via random screening, and 11 were following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, three for the international travel authorization and one in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.563 cases, 18.695 recoveries, 118 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 60.3 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 37.5 percent have been fully vaccinated.
