DILI, 04 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded 10 new COVID-19 cases, 133 recoveries, and the active cases dropped to 549, Rui Maria de Araujo, the Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK) says.
According to today’s figure, six new cases were detected in Baucau, two in Dili, and one each in RAEOA and Bobonaro,
Of the 19 new cases, 20 percent were fully vaccinated citizens, and 10 percent have received at least one dose of the vaccine. These new cases include five men and five women.
Araujo said six of the new cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, including two cases under 20, and two elderly persons over 60.
He said 40 percent of today’s cases were symptomatic.
There are 25 people with COVID-19 in hospital and five of those are in critical condition, with one on a ventilator.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 67 PCR tests, including two through contact tracing, one via random screening, six following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, one for an international travel authorization, and 57 in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in april 2020, the country has recorded 19.592 cases, 18.925 recoveries, and 118 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 60.7 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 37.7 percent have been fully vaccinated.
