DILI, 04 october 2021 (TATOLI) – The Secretary of State for Fisheries (SEP), Elídio de Araújo, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of SEP, National Director of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MAP), local authorities, and Hatu-Builiko’s PNTL Commander organized a dialogue with the Covid-19 task force to launch vaccination campaign in Nuno-Mogue village of the Hatu-Buliko Administrative Post of Ainaro Municipality, on friday (01/10).
The aim of launching the vaccination campaign in Nuno-Mogue village was to raise the awareness of the local communities regarding the benefits of the vaccine in boosting the immune system against Covid-19.
The vaccination campaign in Nuno-Mogue village was part of the government’s work to achieve its goal of reaching an 80 percent double-vaccination rate by the end of 2021.
Speaking during the dialogue, the State Secretary for Fisheries, Elídio de Araújo said that the vaccination campaign was approved by the Council of Ministers to combat the Covid-19, as Timor-Leste has been in the pandemic mode for a year and a half now.
“Due to the epidemiological situation in the country, the Council of Ministers applied the mandatory confinement and sanitary fence to protect the citizens.
Araujo called on local communities in Nuno-Mogue village to visit the nearest vaccination centers to get vaccinated.
“We are at a higher risk of getting severe COVID-19 disease. Therefore, vaccination is the only to protect ourselves from coronavirus and the new Delta variant,” Araujo added.
