DILI, 12 october 2021 (TATOLI) – The Government of Japan offered another 18 units of ambulances to the Ministry of Health (MoH) to equip the Ministry of Health with the needed logistics to facilitate essential health services across the country.
The Director-General of the Corporate of Health Services of the Ministry of Health, Marcelo Amaral said the 18 units of the ambulances were given by the Japanese government to fulfill its promise of providing a total of 38 units of ambulances to the Ministry of Health.
“The Government of Japan had provided a total of 38 units of ambulances to the Ministry of Health. It delivered 20 units in may and, today we received another 18 units of ambulances to facilitate the emergency medical services and essential health care of the Ministry of Health,” Amaral told TATOLI, at Hotel Timor, in Dili, on monday.
The 18 units of the ambulances will be distributed to the Health Care Facilities in the municipalities that currently had no ambulance.
He said these ambulances would facilitate the transportation of the medicines and essential medical equipment and medical workers to carry out healthcare services in the rural communities.
“The 20 units of the ambulances that we received previously had been distributed to the municipalities to support the emergency medical services and Covid-19 Ambulance Services to boost the Covid-19 response,” said Amaral.
