WHO continues to support UNTL’s education research

DILI, 12 october 2021 (TATOLI) – The World Health Organization (WHO) signed an agreement with the National University of Timor-Lorosa’e (UNTL) to continue supporting the education research programs at UNTL.

“With the signing of this official agreement, WHO will support UNTL with research facilities, including computers and books. WHO will also facilitate UNTL on capacity building and training on academic research and curriculum revision,” UNTL’s rector, Joao Soares Martins told reporters at UNTL’s campus, in Dili, on tuesday.

One of the biggest supports WHO had given to UNTL was the 2014-2015 research, which was used by the Ministry of Health to make its policy plan.

The WHO Representative to Timor-Leste, Dr. Arvind Mathur said the signing of the agreement was the first phase to continue the cooperation that had been established previously.

WHO had been provided financial and technical support to ensuring quality at UNTL, especially the Faculty of Health Sciences.

With the five-year agreement, WHO ensures that more support would be given to UNTL within this year.
