DILI, 4 november, 2021 (TATOLI)- The United Nations Education, Social and Culture organization (UNESCO) will implement Education Broadcasting System for 3rd cycle students in Timor-Leste.
The Representative of UNESCO, Francisco Barreto said the purpose of this program is to help 3 cycle students to learn science effectively during covid-19.
“Timor-Leste is one of the countries that also affected by pandemic and most of the schools were closed due to the pandemic no face to face classes, therefore the program will help the students in their learning process,” Francisco Barreto told Tatoli at His office INFORDEPE, this Thursday.
He explained the program will implement through Education Broadcasting System and will be assisted by 14 teachers while the students will receive the book for basic science and Education to participate in the program.
According to Barreto, the developing Distance Learning Programme for Science through the National Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) is also established with the purpose to support the use of Basic Education Science Workbooks.
“Therefore The Book will finalize by UNESCO and MoEYS to distribute to all the schools in Dili while the other municipalities have been distributed to ease and enable the students to access “Free and Quality Education” through television,” he said.
According to Barreto 90.108 total books have been distributed to all cycle’s students in 345 schools across the country.
The book was developed by the Minister of Education, youth and sport (MoEYS) and printed by UNESCO Jakarta and this project is supported by the Korea Republic the amount of 2,4 million.
