USAID -MTCI and Stakeholders launch the GOTIMOR App platform for Tourism communitarians

DILI, november 18, 2021 (TATOLI)– The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and its shareholders promote the platform “GOTIMOR” Implementation of community-based tourism for Timor-Leste and Foreign visitors.

“The purpose of the “Go TIMOR” application is to promote interest in Timor-Leste tourism sites throughout the country and invite tourists to visit the community by providing overnight accommodation,” USAID Party Chairman Peter Semone told reporters in the Timor Lodge meeting room, Comoros, November 17. , this Wednesday.

The National Director of Communitarian Culture and Tourism, Moises Tilman, appreciated the efforts of USAID and stakeholders for the creation of the GO TIMOR application to support Timorese and foreign communities in accessing tourist sites throughout the country.

“This is a useful app that helps people to know more about tourism communitarian sites that they have never visited,” said Tilman.

TELKOMSEL is one of the main partners who offer important contributions after this application is formed. Heineken is also one of the USAID Partners who always supports the field of marketing.

TELKOMSEL CEO, Yogi Rizkian Bahar said that today is the most important day for their participation and cooperation with MTCI to build the tourism industry. This GO TIMOR application is to help develop the tourism industry in Timor-Leste and bring benefits to the people of Timor-Leste.

The same thing was expressed by Heineken Bintang Brand Executive, Tiago Graca, “The GO TIMOR application helps Timor-Leste by providing direct and indirect benefits to the community to improve the economy of their families after the pandemic.
“This is a proud moment to explore Timor-Leste’s natural resources and tourist sites because most of the people at home and abroad are eager to visit these amazing places,” said Tiagor Graca.

Operation Manager of Pone house, Serafin Ramos on the other hand said, Phone House is committed to offering a free download of the ‘GO TIMOR’ application for everyone who visits the phone house market around DILI.

“This app helps people to easily access Timor-Leste tourism sites across the country,” he said.

The sponsors of this application consist of three academic styles, Air Timor, Yellow Tail, Gloria Jean, Burger king, Timor Plaza, and Phone house.

There will be 5,000 to 10,000 people who can access the application according to USAID’s expectations. Lucky draw prizes will also be provided at the nearby market every Saturday.

Remember, last week USAID has conducted tracking to CAMEA and Tokomali which are considered attractive places for tourism communitarians.

The Government of Timor Leste through the Minister of Tourism, Commerce, and Industry (MTCI) is fully responsible for promoting communitarian tourism on the GOTIMOR application and is supported by USAID.
