CQR & Juju NGO launch Children’s peace Library to enhance children reading skill

DILI 06 december, 2021 (TATOLI) Quesadhip Center Ruak (QCR) and Korean Juju non-government organization (NGO) has officially launched Children’s peace Library to enhance children reading skills.

The founder of Quesadhip Ruak, Isabel Da Costa Pereira said the purpose of today’s event is to provide children with some various diffract history books and help children to be effective in reading.

“This library provides several history books. The history that written and provided by South of Korea and provided from Timor-Leste, the books are in the tetum version,” The founder of Quesadhip Ruak, Isabel Da Costa Pereira commented on the CRQ center in Taibesi, Dili.

There are also various books from different countries; the United States, France, and Australia which are also translated to Tetum.

At the same time, The South Korean Ambassador to Timor-Leste, KIM JEONG-HO expresses his appreciation towards the cooperation between both parties saying, This is a very honorable moment for the Embassy to witness this launching ceremony of providing the books to Timorese Children.

“I appreciate so much for this program to provide children several books for reading. It needs to increase children’s knowledge and develop their skills through offering opportunities for their schools,” Mr. Kim Jeong-Ho said.

Ambassador KIM JEONG-HO considered reading to be one of the factors that contribute to the improvement of capacity for human resources in the future.

KIM JEONG-HO promises to continue to support the CRQ center of the library by organizing a reading seminar to enhance children’s knowledge about the importance of reading.

Likewise, The Director of Global inner peace, Mrs. Shin Eun Kyoung said there are more there 200 books that have been provided in the library, while more than 33 students from 3rd to 9th grades are regularly visiting this library.

“This library is open to everyone who wants to visit and provide reading activity to some histories books,” said Shin Eun Kyoung 

According to Shin Eun Kyoung, the books supply and translation cost more than 4.500 USD, the books composed of history, science, mathematics, English, and Portuguese.

Kyoung said the library has been established in Dili and Atauro (Colmera and Taibesi), hoping to expand to other municipalities.
