DILI, 29 december 2021 (TATOLI) – Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in Timor – Leste YAMADA Kazumi said, during 2021 Japan had donated US$ 77 million to Timor – Leste in the various sector for national development.
“We have donated $USD 77 million to Timor – Leste in 2021, Japan is committed to helping Timor – Leste as in 10 years ago when Japan was hit by the tsunami, Timor – Leste was one of the friendship countries that also offered the support to Japan through $US 1 million financial donations therefore now its the time to for Japan to help back Timor-Leste,” Kazumi told TATOLI in the Ministry of Finance office Aitarak Laran, Dili.
Kazumi added that the funds were channeled to the Government account to help the country combat COVID-19, assisting the victims of the April 4 flood, constructing school buildings, and supporting other development processes in Timor – Leste.
Japan also provided 170,000 doses of the Astrazenaca vaccine and 38 Ambulances vehicles to support the Ministry of Health to combat COVID – 19 in Timor Leste in 2021 so far.
Kazumi, Therefore saying Japan will always be committed to helping Timor – Leste at any time.
