DILI, 10 december 2021 (TATOLI)–The Ministry of Tourism, Trade, and Industry (MTTI) through the National Coordinator of Timor Leste for Expo Dubai 2020, Manuel Vong said that flights from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will directly connect Timor Leste, Asia, and the Pacific island.
Vong said TL had signed a cooperation agreement, namely the Air Service Agreement with the UAE in the field of aviation at Expo 2020 Dubai.
“Etihad Airways, Emirates Airlines, Air Arabia, Flydubai, Dhabi, and Wizzair Abu Dhabi, will operate in Timor -Leste, and will also make the direct connections between Asia and the Pacific island, Timor – Leste will establish a National flight company in Dubai to implement this project and TL will also establish the Airport service management to cooperate with UAE ‘s flights, to provide the opportunities to Timor-Leste to prepare airports,’’ the Coordinator of Expo Dubai Manuel Vong told reporters in his office Pantai Kelapa Dili, today.
Vong explained, if the flight agreement is implemented, it can provide opportunities for the private sector, especially for agriculture to promote local products and tourism, and will open the new work opportunity to Timorese people in the upcoming future.
