DILI, January 17, 2022 (TATOLI)—Perissos company importing in January this year has imported more than 5,000 tons of rice from Thailand.

“The stock in our warehouse is sufficient because this month we have imported three rice from Thailand, our estimate is more than 5,000 tons, “The Manager of Perissos Company, Meliany Sanjaya to Tatoli in Hudi-Laran, Dili, Monday.

He explained, with more than 5,000 tons, Perissos imported five different types, such as Manu Vitória 25 kg, Globus 25-30 kg, Folsom 20 kg, Nasi Wangi 15 kg, and Gostu Loos 25 kg.

“This is for 2022, therefore it can meet the needs of the TL community,” he said.

Meliany also informed that the price of basic food and basic needs offered from Perissos is still at the standard price as it was a year ago due to the impact of COVID-19, which has resulted in decreased ship transportation movements.

Even so, Perissos so far only raised the price slightly from the usual like $ 0.25 to $ 0.50. This is all because prices from suppliers are also high.

The transportation and container price is also added up due to the different regulations between countries passing by.

Even in this pandemic, demand from all over the world is increasing and at the same time, the supply of containers is running low so the price can go up.
