UN recognizes g7+ charter officially register in New York

DILI, 27 january 2022 (TATOLI)- United Nations (UN) General-Secretary, António Guteres is recognizing g7+ Charter officially registered in New York.

The g7+ General-Secretary, Helder da Costa, said g7+ is recognized as an international organization, after officially registering the Treaty Charter in New Work.

“It was approved in the UN Treaty section on 13 of January, 2022.  g7+ was ratified as a multilateral organization in New York, The g7+ General-Secretary, Helder da Costa told reporters in his office at government palace, 27 january, this thursday.

He added that the recognition is not only by the UN, however g7+ also recognized by the Portuguese Speaking Country (CPLP) on the global constitution. It is regarding the CPLP’s regulations that were approved in last july 2021.

g7+ thanks the government initiative through the National Parliament of Timor-Leste to encourage the UN to approved g7+ treaty Charter in the New Year, in 2022.

Currently, g7+ and CPLP are working together to concentrate on diplomatic policies. It is aimed at ensuring the peace and stability in all fragile countries.

Mr. Costa said after g7+ approved for an international non-governmental organization. Timor-Leste can be promoted internationally.

According to UN article 102 all non-governmental organizations must comply with some requirements. G7+ criteria are required to have a treaty charter. g7+ has fulfilled criteria on justice, Institutional and constitutional.

Based on g7+ 12, after the treaty charter has been approved the General Secretary must submit the charter to the United Nations.

The Vice Secretary- General g7+, Mr. Habib Mayar thanked Timor-Leste on behalf of helping on leading g7+ on finalizing the treaty charter, which was recognized by the United Nations.

He considers it a unique platform that advocates peace through reconciliation and pear learning. It is reflecting on consolidation of fragile country groups.

g7+ will cooperate with the government, social civic, European Union and other partners to work on peace building and ensuring the democracy system in Timor-Leste is well implemented.  g7+ has full responsibility for peace construction for all fragile countries.

g7+ was funded and hosted by Timor-Leste in the last ten previous years. All fragile countries are gathering to work for democracy and peace building. It is ensuring the g7+ country members not more affected by conflict and reconsideration should have to find country stability, reconstruction and development.

g7+ has 20 countries members as Timor-Leste, Sera Leoa, Afghanistan, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, São Tomé e Príncipe and among others.

g7+ in Timor-Leste is working with CNE and STAE to continue offering presidential election advocacy to ensure the upcoming election responds to the democracy system, transparency and without conflict.

It is known g7+ finance is provided by each country’s members. Timor-Leste has approved 1 million USD from the 2022 state budget.
