DILI, 18 february 2022 (TATOLI) – Sixteen candidates-list were assigned a number that would determine the order of their listing on the official ballots for the march 19 Presidential elections.
The President of the Court of Appeal, Deolindo dos Santos, presided over the numerical order of the 16 candidates to the President of the Republic, Francisco Guterres ‘Lu Olo’. Below is the list of the numerical order of the 16 candidates for the upcoming presidential election:

“As the President of the Court of Appeal, I would like to congratulate the admitted candidates and wish them good luck with their electoral campaign,” Santos made the comments after the official announcement of the numerical orders of the names of the candidates, at the Court of Appeal, in Dili, on thursday.
Santos said that the Court of Appeal also presented the result of the numerical order list of the candidates to both Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) and the National Commission for Elections (CNE) to print the ballot papers.
The Director-General of STAE, Acilino Branco, announced that the Council of Ministers had instructed Timor-Leste’s National Printing, I. P. (INTL) to proceed with the printing of the ballot papers.
The ballot papers have been scheduled to be printed on the 24th of february, and presented on the 10th and 11th of march.
Ramos Horta presidential campaign chairman, Tomás Cabral, said that his candidate occupies 14th place in the ballot papers, taking the opportunity to ask voters to vote massively for Ramos Horta.
Fernando da Costa, the chairman for the political campaign of the candidate Francisco Guterres ‘Lú Olo’, the current Head of State, said that occupying the sixth place is: “a more comfortable position for voters to choose our candidate.”
Rui Menezes, the campaign manager for the candidate of the Democratic Party, Mariano ‘Assabami’ Sabino, expressed his appreciation as his candidate occupied the last spot: “Voters would take the bulletin and mark cross in the last number,” he said.
