PNTL tickets 40 motorbikes from the candidate of President Republic Horta’s supporters

DILI, 15 march 2022 (TATOLI)- The National Police of Timor–Leste (PNTL) from the Traffic Unit of the Dili municipality and the Traffic Unit of the National have ticketed 40 motorbikes from the supporters and militants of the candidate of the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta for violating the traffic regulations during convoyed in participating the campaign of the candidate of President of the Republic with lottery number 14, in Tasi-Tolu, Dili, today.

“Previously the PNTL Command had appealed to all party’s supporters and militants to carry out a final campaign in Dili with discipline and obeying  the traffic regulations, but today the Dili municipal PNTL from the Traffic Unit together with the Traffic Unit from   National    ticketed 40 motorbike from the candidate of the President of the Republic Horta ‘s supporters, because they were violated the  traffic signs and many of them do not wear the helmets,” Chief of National Traffic Unit  Sub Inspector João Belo   told TATOLI in the Traffic Unit Post, Tasi-Tolu Dili on this tuesday.

Chief of National Traffic Unit, Sub-Inspector João Belo, informed that the PNTL is not prohibited the supporters and militants from any candidates from the President of the Republic in conducting the campaigns and convoyed around the Dili but must obey the traffic signs, wear a helmet and have a driver’s license and must also have a complete motorcycle document to prevent the traffic accident during the campaign is took place.

The motorbikes that have been ticketed will be placed in the Dili municipal PNTL and will be returned to the owner of the motorbike when the administration is being paid.

The command of PNTL urges everyone to cooperate with the PNTL in conducting a peaceful campaign for the President of the Republic to ensure the stability in holding the Presidential of the Republic ‘s election which will be held on 19 of march 2022.
