Horta shares insights focus on “challenges and opportunity” for 2022-2027

DILI, 30 march 2020 (TATOLI)- The Presidential Candidate José Ramos Horta is sharing insights to foresee the challenges and opportunities for a country that will encounter in 2022- 2027 in Timor-Leste.

The Presidential Candidate, José Ramos Horta said that it is most important to oversee the challenges and opportunities which can bring the country improvement in the coming years.

“The challenges that Timor-Leste faced are related to laws. The leaders must well interpret the laws which have been ratified by the Timor-Leste Constitution,” The former, José Ramos Horta said in his remark at UNPAZ Campus, Manleuana, this wednesday.

Timor-Leste, according to Horta, is a country that adopts a semi-presidential system. The challenges are the leaders misinterpreting the laws based on the Semi-presidential system in the country.

The court of appeals is the highest institution to take any decision based on constitutional laws. It takes responsibility for juridical and is most required to decide justice for any irregularity in the country.

Timor-Leste constitution allows for the majority party to form a new government. However, if there is no one majority it should require the Alliance Majority Parliament (AMP). Mr. Horta recognized that the situation happened last 2015 when elected to be president.

The solution was taken in dialogue with all political parties. It successfully resulted that the majority party could form the government based on the agreement of coalition.

The laureate of peace novel, Ramos Horta said human resource is most important to ensure the economic growth in Timor-Leste. It is a greater opportunity for the Timorese young generation to keep studying hard for the country’s development in the future.

To be a good leader, human resources are most required and ensure the development in many sectors composed of education, health, justice, economy, and others.

As the human resource is sufficient the opportunity for economic growth in the country will be more improving.

In the same place, the magnificent Rector of university da UNPAZ, Adolmando Soares said students and academics must be deeply comprehensive about the country’s challenges and opportunities in five coming years.

He added Ramos Horta is an academic and expert person. All knowledge is essential to share with students as a country’s new generation.

“A student should gain more knowledge to become a reference nowadays and even in the future. It is especially about the real situation encountered in people’s life in the country,” He said.

Mr. Soares considers Mr. Horta to be a counselor and inspiration for all young people. Timorese students should gain some knowledge for future development.
