DILI, 04 abril 2022 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s delegation to the Expo 2020 Dubai held a meeting with Dubai’s Jobs Global to discuss the possibility of sending Timorese workers to work in Dubai, in the future.
Jobs Global would begin recruiting Timorese workers once the government of Timor-Leste approved its recruitment request.
During the meeting, the President of the Arabian Centers Human Resources Group Jobs Global, Samer Salibi said that Jobs Global would commit to facilitating the Timorese workers to be hired by Dubai’s companies.
At the same place, Rui Pires, the owner of the Incanto Group Timor-Leste said Expo 2020 Dubai has paved way for Timor-Leste and Jobs Global to send Timorese workers to Dubai: “Our fellow Timorese workers would have the opportunity to work in Dubai.”
In addition, the Director-General of SEFOPE, Paulo Alves thanked Jobs Global for giving the opportunity for the Timorese people to work in Dubai.
“The Government, through SEFOPE, would find ways to facilitate Timorese workers if Jobs Global is indeed willing to recruit workers from Timor-Leste,” Alves said.
Manuel Vong, the Coordinator of the Timor-Leste’s Delegation to Expo 2022 Dubai also said that sending workers to Dubai would help many jobless Timorese people to improve their family’s economic hardship.
The government of Timor-Leste has planned to cooperate with Jobs Global to conduct a quick survey of the safety and security of the workplaces in Dubai before sending Timorese workers.
