DILI, 13 april 2022 (TATOLI)- MOVE is a non-governmental organization (NGO) and has been given a positive impact on people’s lives in Portuguese-speaking countries in different continents across the world –Africa, Asia and Europe.
This non-profit organization provides volunteers to raise awareness and empower entrepreneurs to ensure the development of solid and sustainable projects.
The volunteers would create new solutions to support continuous growth in several activity sectors, and guarantee that entrepreneurs implement feasible business strategies.
“We trained 575 young and young adults, supported six projects and accomplished one project in partnership,” Revealed an official data of MOVE regarding Timor-Leste on the last two seasons in a press release to Tatoli today.
According to the note, a project of the MOVE has also benefited by the countries such as Moçambique (2009-2017) São Tomé e Príncipe (2011 – present) and Portugal (Açores-2018 up to present) – some of Timor-Leste’s friends countries due to the similar sharing the historical and cultural values.
“In São Tomé e Príncipe, we trained 533 young and young adults, supported 31 projects and we accomplished six projects in partnership. In Portugal (Açores), we trained 243 young and young adults, supported 25 projects and We accomplished one project in partnership”.
The operating model of the MOVE – a non-profit organization which has been operated in Timor-Leste since 2011, is ‘Wake-from zero to the ideia’, ‘Shake-from the idea to the business model’, ‘Make-from the business model to the sustainability’.
From zero to the idea is to think about the real problems, to provoke ideas, to stimulate an initiative spirit. While, from the Idea to the Business Model is development of technical concepts, training Program with practical applications, development of a Business Plan, feasibility analysis of the Business Plan and then from the business model to sustainability is addressed the Business Plan feasibility, Consultancy: individual and continuous support including Marketing & Strategy, Finance & Accountability, Operations.
Therefore, with those operating models, MOVE during its existence so far has given impact “positively” to more than 1970 people in different business sectors, 315 entrepreneurs and business supported, 45 projects in partnership with other NGO’s and 1353 young people – reached through the promotion of entrepreneurship and leadership programs. Those beneficiaries include Timor-Leste.
“We firmly believe in the power of entrepreneurship. We are committed to our projects and passionate about the work of our entrepreneurs. Our team is made of over 30 volunteers, who ensure day-to-day operations and the organization’s strategic positioning. From Portugal (mainland), we deploy our after work and after study time to the growth of our NGO, in a strong dedication to its vision and mission. We are relentless, always striving for more impact and less inequality, more MOVE,” said the CEO of MOVE, Catarina Rodrigues Marques, in an official statement addressed to Tatoli.
Meanwhile, MOVE was founded in 2009. It’s a NGO for development that operates in more fragile economies that speak Portuguese.
The vision and mission of this organization is to believe in a world where good ideas and hard work have a fair return (vision) and Empower entrepreneurs to MOVE the world (mission).
The reason for the establishment of MOVE is to empower entrepreneurs as they believe that one sustainable entrepreneur creates value for himself/herself and for his/her family. His/her product or service, based on local needs and resources, targets the community, generates jobs and inspires new entrepreneurs. This way, they enhance vulnerable communities and we reduce economic and social inequalities
