DILI, 13 april 2022 (TATOLI) – Around 4,030 electors will be eligible to vote at the Parallel Voting Center in Dili, informed The Minister of State Administration (MSA), Miguel Pereira de Carvalho.
“Based on the STAE National ‘s database, around 4,030 electors who were registered, where they have voted in first round of the Presidential election on 19 of march at the parallel voting center and from 4,030 electors will continue to vote in the second round of presidential elections which will be held on 19 of april 2022,” the Executive told TATOLI at the office of STAE in Caicoli-Dili, on this wednesday.
The Minister of MSA, Miguel Pereira de Carvalho, explained that, for electors who have not been registered in the STAE National ‘s database, to coordinate with STAE in order to find a solution because the Government of Timor-Leste through the MSA and STAE has coordinated with private sectors such as the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor–Leste (CCI-TL) to organize and facilitate 100 vehicles that will transport electors whose electoral cards are in the municipality.
Previously STAE had placed three Parallel Voting Centers in three places such as in the East sector located at Becora Vocational Technical School (STM) in serving electors from four municipalities consisting of the municipalities of Manatuto, Baucau, Viqueque, and Lautem, parallel polling centers in the center sector located in GMT-Colmera, comprising the municipalities of Aileu, Manufahi, Ainaro and Covalima and the parallel polling center in the west sector is located in INAP, Comoro, serving electors from the municipalities of Ermera, Liquiça, Bobonaro and Oe-cusse.
Those parallel voting centers were established to increase the voter’s participation in the 2022 presidential election maximally. However, it is not effective due to the information provided by STAE is inefficient, therefore STAE has committed to organize well for the further election in Timor–Leste.
