DILI, 27 april 2022 (TATOLI)– Around 9,847 most vulnerable communities will be the beneficiaries of the Clean Energy Access Acceleration to Reduce Inequality (ACCESS) program.
KOICA Country Director, Eunju Cha, said the ACCESS program implemented by KOICA in the Water, Energy, and Climate Resilience sectors also contribute to infrastructure development in Timor-Leste: “Infrastructure development programs are very important for Timor-Leste’s development. KOICA is coordinating with the Ministry of State Administration to implement a project called Accelerating Access to Clean Energy to Reduce Inequality (ACCESS),”
“This project is targeted to provide direct benefits to 6,347 direct beneficiaries from 25 remote villages without access to electricity with 3,500 people in 11 remote villages living without access to clean water and also having indirect benefits for local governments in the targeted areas” Cha to TATOLI, in the KOICA meeting room, Timor Plaza, Friday.
So far the project has been implemented in three municipalities, Dili, Atauru, Manatuto (Laclo), and Bobonaro (Balibo) sub-districts for five years starting from 2020 to 2024 with a total budget of 3 million USD.
