DILI, 18 May 2022 (TATOLI)– Five secondary schools in Dili, will host a flag-raising ceremony on the 20th anniversary of the Restoration of Independence Day, said Valente de Fatima Miranda, Team Coordinator for the 20th anniversary of TL Independence Day.
The team’s coordinator, Valente de Fatima Miranda, said the five schools consisted of Amigo de Jesus High School, São José Operáriu High School, Cristal, 10 de December, and Nicolau Lobato High School.
“These five schools have selected 68 students to take part in this grand ceremony, of which 39 are women and 29 include 23 former flag-raising members,” he said.
Miranda explained that these students were trained by the Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL) and the Falintil Defense Forces (F-FDTL) since 7 May 2022.
The training focused mainly on physical and mental training, aiming to train them in the formation of the flag-raising.
“20 students will follow the formation and structure of raising the flag and the others will stand in formation,”
So far the ceremony for the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Timor-Leste Restoration day is scheduled to be held on 20 of May 2022.
