DILI, 6 june 2022 (TATOLI)– The East Timor Development Agency (ETDA) will send 120 Timorese youths who have completed their skills training in EDTA to work in Brunei Darussalam in August this year.

The Director of ETDA, Januário Neto Mok, said that sending workers to Brunei was based on an agreement made by ETDA and several international companies in Brunei Darussalam a few weeks ago.

“I visited Brunei Darussalam a few weeks ago and have signed agreements with two hotels including the Radisson hotel and Imperial hotel to deploy 120 Timorese youths to work in Brunei Darussalam,” ETDA Director Januário Neto Mok told reporters at the ETDA office, Hudia Laran, Wednesday.

Neto said 120 Timorese workers would be deployed based on their special skills, saying these workers would work in the culinary field, junior chefs in restaurants, customer service, housekeeping, bars, drivers, and so on.

Neto explained, that the 120 workers will collect some money from their work as well as learn more skills to be able to compete at the international market level and become entrepreneurs and create job opportunities for others.

“The 120 workers will raise some money. We also offer this opportunity to prepare quality human resources to compete at the international market level and prepare for future job opportunities in Timor-Leste,” he said.
