DILI, 01 august 2022 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, and Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak discussed the result of the State visit to Indonesia.
“It was the weekly meeting with President Horta and we discussed a little about our activities, speaking also of the result of President’s visit to Indonesia, in the sense of updating the matters treated in Indonesia to have continuity in the future,” Prime Minister said in a statement released on monday.
Ruak stated that the Head of State had already guided the Presidential team about the elaboration of the State visit to Indonesia report, and the document will be dealt with by the Government, as the proposition to update the agreements established with Indonesia.
During the meeting, Ruak and Horta also discuss a number of important activities carried out in recent weeks.
Chief of the Executive informed from his side, the deliberation of the Council of Ministers, the agreement between the Government of Timor-Leste, and the United States Agency, Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and the document was sent to the National Parliament to proceed with ratification.
On july 19, the Vice President of Compact Operations of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), Cameron Alford, and the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães sign ther compact agreement for the implementation of the US$ 484 million projects.
The US$484 million which consists of US$ 420 million made available by the MCC, together with US$64 million contribution made available by the Government of Timor-Leste.
In addition, both leaders also touched on the rumors of a lack of fuel in government pools, which the Ruak asked citizens not to believe in the rumors.
“Accordingly, I informed the President about the rumors spread in Dili, above all, the lack of fuel, I thus informed President Horta not to be preoccupied, as long as businesses continue to maintain their activities. In case of extreme necessity, and the State-Company, Timor Gap is disposed to make interventions,” said Ruak.
Prime Minister confirmed that the company Pertamina International should discharge soon, around 4 million liters of fuel.
