DILI, 23 august 2022 (TATOLI)- Viettel Telemor’s Vietnam commits to supporting Timor-Leste and contributes to the telecommunications sector in Timor-Leste.
The statement was made by the Director General of Viettel Telemor, Tran Van Bang during a meeting with the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta at the Palace of President.
Director Tran Van Bang said the purpose of the meeting with the President was to share the company’s progress and new strategies for the future during Telemor’s 10-year presence in Timor-Leste.
“We came to Timor-Leste to celebrate 10 years of the creation of Telemor in Timor-Leste, so this is an honorable moment to see the progress of our company existence in Timor-Leste and today We are grateful for the opportunity given to us to discuss with the President the progress over the past 10 years and the new strategy of telecommunications in the future,” ” Director General of Viettel Telemor, Tran van bang told reporters at the Presidential Palace, today in Bairopite.
According to Tran Van Bang, telemor has made significant progress in its internet capacity; “The progress starts from 3G and 4G and currently the company plans to advance to 5G,”
At the same time, Bang also acknowledged that the lack of an internet network is still a major problem for customers in Timor-Leste, saying, therefore, the government’s program to connect submarine cables is very important.
“In response to this issue, Telemor will invest in 5G but the implementation of 5G will be based on the government’s policy to bring submarine cables to Timor-Leste, and our company believes that once the submarine cables are completed Telemor will have internet covering all rural areas across the country. , “
At prime time, Telemor has 200 towers across the country to ensure customers can have access to an internet connection, therefore Telemor has also been coordinating with Facebook and Google companies to provide more information to the public.
So far, Telemor has employed 240 staff working in the company, of which 90% are local staff and 10% are international staff.
