DILI, 24 august 2022 (TATOLI)- The Interim Director of the Association of Visual Impairment in Timor – Leste (AHDMTL), Gabriel Ponciano de Sousa, informed that AHDMTL received US$ 8,000 from Australia Voluntary International (AVI) to support the entrepreneurship program that was currently conducted at AHDMTL.
“AVI funding donation worth US$ 8,000 to provide the training to increase the knowledge of people with insight disable to manage their micro businesses effectively,” Interim Director of AHDMTL, Gabriel Ponciano de Sousa, told TATOLI at his office in Manleuna, Dili.
Sousa added that during this time AHDMTL has an entrepreneurship training center in Manleuna, and has collected 23 disabled micro-business owners to empower them through the training to develop their businesses.
“The supported budget was used to pay the trainers and prepare other materials for training. While entrepreneurship training focuses on how, visual impairments can make flower pots, recycle from waste, make tablecloths, baskets and other entrepreneurial management,”
So far, AHMDTL has collaborated with AVI since 2018 and in 2022, AVI has committed to supporting AHDMTL, especially in the area of entrepreneurship training to support visual impairments in Timor – Leste to live and develop their businesses independently.
