Farmpro company intends to invest in the coffee production in Ermera municipality

DILI, 29 september 2022 (TATOLI) – The Company FarmPro do Brasil, presented an investment plan to invest in coffee production in the Ermera municipality, with a fund of 2 million US dollars.

The company has been operating in Timor-Leste for many years, mainly in agricultural products involving farmers from local communities, supplying products to commercial companies including supermarkets and restaurants, as well as local ones. Although it is a major coffee exporter, coffee has not become the product of choice.

“The company intends to invest in the agricultural sector, particularly increasing coffee production, in Ermera municipality, with a total of 2 million US dollars,” the Executive Director of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency, Arcanjo da Silva, told Tatoli. , at Colmera.

da Silva explained that the company is committed to working with farmers to ensure the quality and quantity of coffee so that the products can be exported.

According to da Silva, FarmPro received the Export Award in 2019, especially for the export of arabica coffee, under the “FarmPro Specialty Coffee” brand, to international markets.

“FarmPro exports roasted coffee directly to consumers in Australia under the “Timor Mountain” brand,” and the company is also involved in selling fresh vegetables to the domestic market,”

FarmPro Director Peter Dougan explains on the company’s official website that FarmPro is an agricultural company that aims to develop local products.

“We are an agricultural company and we work closely with farmers in Timor-Leste to provide quality fresh produce to supermarkets, and restaurants to increase the income of Timor-Leste farmers”, he explained.
