DILI, 03 october 2022 ( TATOLI)– Plan International Organizes a ‘Take Over’ program to welcome the celebration of world girl child day which annual and internationally recognized observance on October 11.
The ‘Take Over’program to involves several Timorese girls taking over the temporarily important position of Prime Minister, Minister, and Director by leading the meeting and organizing the important discussion.
The Representative of Plan International, Alex dos Santos, informed over 60 girls are involved in a “Take Over program” across the Timor – Leste.
“Today a 12 years old Domingas de Jesus from Ainaro municipality at 6th grade of elementary school was allowed to take over the position of the President of Chamber Comercial Industry of Timor – Leste ( CCI- TL ), Oscar Lima as the President of CCI – TL in a few minutes to chair the meeting and make the important decisions, “Representative of Plan International Alex do Santos, told TATOLI at CCI-TL’ s office, Akait Dili on monday.
While 12 years Domingas de Jesus was very proud and touched to become to be part of this program and become the President of CCI-TL for a few minutes to lead a meeting with all CCI-TL structures and be able to make important decisions.

“I thank Plan International for organizing us, to begin a study on leadership, I also thank CCI-TL, especially the President of CCI-TL, Oscar Lima for accepting me to replace his position as interim President of CCI-TL and leading a meeting with all structures and being able to make decisions, this is a very positive thing to train a child mentally, to become the leaders in the future with success,” she said.
At the same place the President of CCI-TL, Oscar Lima, also appreciated the “Take Over” program organized by Plan International, adding that this program will involve girls to start preparing themselves confidence for future leadership.
“I am very impressed with the confidence of Domingas de Jesus for being able to lead the meetings and make the decisions despite her take over the position as the temporary President of CCI-TL for only a few minutes. I hope this opportunity, she will have the ambition to become a successful entrepreneur in the future,” said Oscar Lima.
The “Take Over” program has previously been implemented in three municipalities, Baucau, Ermera, and RAEOA where several girls take over the position of President Authority while chairing meetings and making important decisions.
Based on the plan, the “take over” program will be implemented by Plan International at the President’s office, the Australian Embassy, and the United States Embassy, and on this occasion, several Timorese girls will take over the position as the President of the Republic and Ambassador to lead the meetings and make important decisions in the organization.
