DILI, 08 november 2022 (TATOLI) – The Secretary of State for Youth and Sports (SoSYS), Abrão Saldanha, said the Government through SoSYS would provide US$240,000 to organized Timor-Leste Football League (LFTL).
“The money for the realization of Timor-Leste Football League came from the budget approved by the National Parliament, totaling US$200,000. Meanwhile, the other US$40.000 came from the balance of the league’s funds of the previous year,” Saldanha said.
He said that the realization of the league depends on the calendar, LFTL organizing committee, and the Football Federation of Timor-Leste (FFTL).
Saldanha pointed out that all leagues in the world are organized by an independent body and therefore the Government only provides financial assistance.
He added that according to the information provided by the organizing committee team, the Timor-Leste Football League is expected to start in december, this year.
