Gov’t placed 800,000 USD for the support of the parliamentary election in Guinea-Bissau

DILI, 18  november 2022 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste provided 800.000 USD to support the parliamentary election in Guine-Bissau.

The Minister of State Administration, Miguel de Carvalho Today appreciated the Electoral Census Support Mission Team for completing its mission in Guinea-Bissau.

“With the support of Timorese technicians, the State of Guinea-Bissau has a new database to carry out its parliamentary election in December next month, conducting the recruitment of electoral technicians to accelerate electoral registration”, Miguel de Carvalho told the journalist at the Presidential Palace, in Aitarak-Laran.

The official also pointed out that the mission team had already bought the electoral rolls to leave the Guinea-Bissau electoral team to conduct the electoral census.

 Carvalho also added that the Electoral Support Mission Team will present the result of the electoral register at the meeting of the Council of Ministers.

It should be recalled that the Electoral Support Mission Team completed its work in Guinea Bissau, on November 14.

“So far Timorese Government placed a budget of around US$800,000 to support the parliamentary election in Guinea-Bissau”, he
