DILI, 17 november 2022 (TATOLI) – The President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta, will lead the celebrations for the 47th anniversary of Timor-Leste’s proclamation on 28 november.
Minister of State Administration and President of the Organizing Committee, Miguel de Carvalho told the media after a meeting with the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta at the presidential palace, Thursday.
“We invite the Head of State to preside over the ceremony for the Proclamation of Independence for Timor-Leste and we are also renewing preparations for activities between November 22 and 28 in Manatuto,” said Carvalho.
In turn, Carvalho said the President would be willing to attend the ceremony.
Carvalho explained that currently, the committee is coordinating with the Ministry of Tourism, Trade, and Industry (MTCI) to prepare various commercial activities, cooperatives, and other exhibitions to welcome the celebration.
Carvalho also mentioned that a thanksgiving mass would take place in Manatuto at 15.00 before guests were scheduled to visit the heroes’ garden.
According to the schedule, the flag-raising ceremony will be held on November 28 at 08.00 am TLH.
The ceremony will include the decoration of 74 veterans from Timor-Leste and five from abroad by the head of State.
