DILI, 22 november 2022 (TATOLI)- The Embassy of the United States of America in Timor-Leste along with Timor-Leste’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-TL) agree to provide a second phase of Academic for Women Entrepreneurs training to 60 women entrepreneurs which focused on the development of business ideas, business start-up, and business management.
Chargé d’Affaires US Embassy in Timor-Leste, Tom Daley said it is a great honor to be a partner with CCI-TL to continue providing the second phase of AWE capacity building for the 60 Timorese young entrepreneurs.
“ We are glad to sponsor an AWE training program for 60 Timorese women entrepreneurs to become a leader to run their businesses,’’ Chargé d’Affaires US Embassy in Timor-Leste, Tom Daley told Journalists in Acait, Wednesday.
At the same time, Daley encouraged young Timorese business leaders to enhance their knowledge through this training period.
“The US embassy provides funds to support the training and support them develop their business. The United States is very happy to help Timor-Leste for empowers Timorese women and develop the country’s economy, after covid-19,”
President of CCIT-TL, Jorge Manuel Araujo Serano said this training is important for young businesswomen to expand their knowledge and skill to develop their businesses.
“Timorese women have a great potential involved in the entrepreneurship activities that contribute to Timor-Leste’s economic development and also provided job opportunities for others,”
Mr. Searno also encourages businesswomen to be confident in their businesses and stay confident when facing business challenges.
The Academic for Women Entrepreneurs training is a continuation of the first phase of training implemented in 2021 with the participants 30 Entrepreneurs.
The second phase of the AWE is funded by the US Embassy in Dili with a total amount worth 40,000 USD for two weeks.
