DILI, 20 december 2022 ( TATOLI) – The South Korean Ambassador to Timor-Leste, Jeong – ho Kim, revealed that South Korea Government has supported 67 Timorese to complete their education in the Universities in South Korea from 2010 to 2022.
The support was provided through the Fellowship program of the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
” KOICA Fellowship Program ( CIAT) has been supporting Timor – Leste with scholarships since 2010, it had offered opportunities to 67 Timorese who graduated from different universities with different educational backgrounds, and they have been working in the government institutions and contribute to nation-building,” said the Ambassador of South Korea Jeong – ho Kim told TATOLI at his office, Kampung Alor, Dili on tuesday.
Ambassador Kim said 67 Timorese graduates taking different educational backgrounds composed of Agriculture 8 person, Urban and Regional Development 6, Global Health 7, Public Policy 3, Economic Development 3, Techno – Entrepreneurship 3, Fisheries 5, Leadership 7, Etc 19.
“Republic of Korea continues to support other Timorese to study in South Korea through KOICA Fellowship Program to the other students to study in South Korea,”
CIAT offers scholarships at the same time offers short-term courses such as E-Governance Capacity Building, Capacity Development of E-Procurement, Encouraging the Diversification toward means of Social Communication, and Capacity Building for Criminal Investigation Services.
Ciat has offered training in Criminal Investigation Services for 530 public servants from 2002- 2022 in South Korea.
