Cipriano Félix company invests in the plantation of yams and sweet potatoes

DILI, 03 january 2022 (TATOLI) – Cipriano Félix company Lda, based in Lospalos, municipality of Lautém, has planted yams and sweet potatoes on 7.5 hectares of land.

Speaking to Tatoli, the owner of the company, Arsénio da Costa Cabral Pinto said the plantations aim to strengthen local production to respond to market needs and contribute to agriculture and livestock in the eastern region.

“We invest in agriculture, growing yams, and sweet potatoes. Considering that the Government has included these products in the food Basket Program, so it is important to grow these plants,” said Pinto.

He also added that the land prepared, will also be used for planting corn, and coconuts, covering an area of ​​20 hectares.

At the same time, Arsénio Pinto also informed that his company is dedicated to animal husbandry. “We have 47 Macao pigs and 48 cows. In the short term, we plan to raise ducks.”

He  explained that the company produces coconut oil and uses stubble to feed pigs, adding that the company has a collaboration of seven permanent workers, 14 contractors, and dozens of seasonal workers.

Cipriano Félix company Lda was awarded a Certification of Investor and Declaration of Benefits by the TradeInvest, the Export Promotion Agency on december 22, 2022.
