DILI, 12 january 2023 ( TATOLI) – The Director of Health Dili Health Municipal, Agustinha da Costa S. Segurado, inform, Dili municipal health center has reservation of mosquito fumigation fluids and dengue medication.
“We still have dengue treatment and mosquito fumigation fluids available in six health centers in Dili; Dom Aleixo Health Center, Vera, Crus Nain Feto, Cristo Rei, Metinaro, Dili Municipal Health Center including Guido Valadares National Hospital Bidau Toko Baru. the fumigation drug is available to use for fumigation in the area that is prone to dengue disease we also have medication to treat the symptoms of dengue, “Agustinha da Costa S. Segurado told TATOLI at his office, Bairo Formosa on thursday.
Segurado also added that, despite they have limited stock to fight the dengue disease and mosquitos, it does not guarantee a total elimination of dengue cases, because preventing the expansion depends on community awareness.
“We have carried out a national campaign which involved the Municipal Authorities including all village officials to work together with the communities to clean up the environment to prevent mosquito’s breading ground,” she said.
So far the Ministry of Health through the six Health Services had distributed the chemical medication for dengue to 55,000 benefited households to put, that chemical medication in their water tank to prevent mosquito nests which caused the dengue in Dili Municipality.
