DILI, 16 februaury 2023 (TATOLI)- The Secretariat State of Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE) today held a meeting with another 33 Timorese workers before departing for South Korea.
The General Director of Director of SEFOPE, Paulo Alves said that, the meeting aimed at providing them with clear and detailed information regarding contracts, criteria, and requirements they must fulfill before leaving for South Korea.
“I urge the workers to fulfill all the legal regulations and the employment contract signed with the company owner in South Korea as well as the law imposed by the South Korean Government,” Paulo Alves told reporters at the farewell ceremony together with the parents and family of Timorese workers at Timor – Lodge Comoro Dili, on thursday.
General Director, of SEFOPE Paulo Alves, appealed to all Timorese workers to learn more Korean language to be able to do the communication with their company as well as friends.
Yang also appealed to Timorese workers to fulfill the legal regulations and prioritize working discipline in South Korea.
The 33 workers were set to travel to South Korea on february 19, 2023.
Since 2009 until now Timor Leste has sent over 5,138 Timorese workers and at the moment over 3500 Timorese workers continue to work in South Korea.
