DILI, march 11, 2023 (TATOLI) – The Rector of the Oriental University of Timor Loro Sa’e ( UNITAL), Florindo Pereira said UNITAL will send 11 permanent lecturers to continue their Doctoral studies at various universities in Indonesia.
The 11 lecturers will continue their studies according to their specific areas at the universities in Jakarta, Padang, Ahmad Yani Yogyakarta, and Airlangga University.
“We sent 11 lecturers to continue their studies at various universities in Indonesia composes of 7 people to continue their studies in Jakarta, 2 people to the university of Ahmad Yani Yogyakarta, 1 person to the University of Padang and 1 person will continue his studies at Airlangga University. This program was conducted by UNITAL to ensure the quality of higher education through human resources,” Florindo Lopes told reporters at the Palace Government, Dili.
The lecturers were sent to Indonesia based on the Memorandum of Understanding which previously had been signed by UNITAL and several universities in Indonesia.
“Currently we have over 200 Masters lecturers in various departments so they will be sent to Indonesia to continue their studies to ensure the quality of higher education in Timor – Leste,” he said.
In addition to sending Masters lecturers to continue their Doctoral Programs, UNITAL also cooperated with the University of Malang to provide pedagogy training for the lecturers.
“Pedagogical training is very important for lecturers because it helps the lecturer to understand the method of teaching to deliver the subjects to the student with effective,” he concluded.
