DILI, 20 march 2023 ( TATOLI) – The Association of Vision Impairment of Timor – Leste (AHDMTL) recommends to the National Election Commission (CNE) to provide civic Education for the 2023 parliamentary elections to AHDMTL members to increase awareness of persons with visual impairments to participate optimally in parliamentary elections.
AHDMTL Executive Director, Gabriel Ponciano de Sousa, said AHDMTL hopes that CNE will provide Civic Education for the 2023 parliamentary election on how to participate optimally in exercising transparent, free, and fair voting rights.
“We need Citizenship Education from CNE, to raise awareness of people with disabilities so they can participate optimally in the 2023 parliamentary elections,” AHDMTL Executive Director Ponciano de Sousa told TATOLI at his office in Manleuana, Dili, Monday.
The Executive Director of AHDMTL, Gabriel Ponciano stated that citizens have the right to vote to choose their party to represent them in the National Parliament to decide on building national development in Timor-Leste.
