DILI, 20 march 2023 (TATOLI) – The National Election Commission (CNE) today facilitated the training to 355 election Monitors in Dili to ensure transparent, free, and fair elections.
CNE Commissioner, Odete Maria Belo, said the training was very important to introduce the functions of the CNE and the Technical Administration Secretariat (STAE) to ensure transparent, free, and fair elections in all voting centers in the municipality of Dili.
“CNE is facilitating training to the election monitors to increase their knowledge to ensure effective and transparent elections” CNE Commissioner, Dili municipality Odete Maria Belo, told reporters at CNE Office, Colmera Dili, Monday.
Belo highlighted that 355 election monitors will be assigned to 262 polling stations in the municipality of Dili to oversee the 2023 parliamentary elections.
Joao Maria, a trainer, said the participants would take part in three days of training from the 20th to the 22nd at the CNE office.
“We will facilitate training materials on the electoral system, election crimes, vote counting, and related materials to ensure transparent, free, and fair elections,” he said.
He explained, with this training, the 355 election monitors would have sufficient knowledge to ensure the success of the 2023 parliamentary elections.
