DILI, 22 march 2023 ( TATOLI)- Asosiasi Lembaga Missionaries (ALMA), has offered 10 tricycles to 10 disabled people to support their daily activities.
Me. Rena said ALMA has a Physical Therapy School which this year has accommodated 22 physically disabled people to attend non-formal education at ALMA.
“We have 22 physically disabled people who are accommodated by ALMA, to attend the non-formal education at Alma Dormitory, but most of them do not have a tricycle so a few days ago ALMA has offered 10 tricycles for those who need the tricycles,” said Me, Rena to TATOLI at his office in Pantai Kelapa, Dili on wednesday.
Me, Rena, explained that the 22 physically disabled people were all accompanied by their families to attend non-formal education such as physiotherapy training, courses in Portuguese, English, and other related materials.
“Even though their condition was not possible, their intellectuality was above average. Alma was very proud of their achievements,” she said.
Me, Rena explained that the physically disabled must be well received and recommended to the Government to cooperate with all organizations dealing with disabilities in Timor – Leste to contribute to the process of development because they are physically disabled but their brains are not disabled.
“We will continue to cooperate with the government of Timor-Leste and international patners to pay attention to the fate of persons with disabilities in Timor-Leste,”she concluded.
