DILI, 28 march 2023 (TATOLI)— The Minister of Health (MoH), Odete Belo and her vice Minister, Bonifacio Maucoli dos Reis, today held a meeting with Prime Minister (PM) Taur Matan Ruak, to report about the process of constructing the pediatric unit building of the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV).
“Today’s meeting with the Prime Minister was to actualize the construction of the pediatric unit at the HNGV, where the process and progress are still being mobilized,” the Minister of Health, Odete Maria Freitas Belo, told reporters after meeting with Prime Minister Ruak in Government Palace on tuesday.
She said, until now, the construction of the pediatric unit at HNGV was still in the stage of resource mobilization, such as equipment and materials for construction.
“On the other hand, the Ministry of Health is still looking at the construction design for the administrative process, including the budget issued, so the procedure is ongoing, and today we are updating the progress to the PM Ruak,” she said.
Previously, the Government, through a meeting of the Council of Ministers, had approved procurement procedures through an international public tender to build a pediatric unit at HNGV to guarantee the quality of intensive care for children.
