DILI, 11 april 2023 (TATOLI) – Charles Darwin University (CDU) and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) will sign a bilateral agreement on Vocational Education and Training to boost the quality of education in Timor-Leste.
Education Minister, Armindo Maia, has recently paid a working visit to Charles Darwin University to discuss the preparation for the signing of the bilateral agreement.
“CDU is open and ready to establish a bilateral agreement with the Education Ministry on Education and Vocational Training,” Minister Maia told reporters, in Dili, today.
The bilateral agreement will provide opportunities for Timor-Leste and the CDU to establish student exchange programs, which will allow Timorese students to study at CDU.
“So Timorese students will have the opportunity to go and study at CDU with a partial tuition fee and other related scholarships,” Maia explained.
He said that a CDU representative will have a technical meeting with the Ministry of Education to further discuss the preparation for the establishment of the agreement.
In addition, Timorese English teachers will also be sent to improve their English skills at CDU under the bilateral agreement.
