DILI, 11 april 2023 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports (MoEYS) will inaugurate 59 pre-schools and primary schools in the country, next week.
This will be the second phase of the inauguration of the schools in the country, under the leadership of the Minister of Education, Armindo Maia.
The inauguration ceremony will take place in Maliana, the capital of the Bobonaro municipality, on 17 April 2023.
In January 2023, the Ministry of Education inaugurated 94 schools as the first phase of the inauguration of education infrastructure in the country, making it one of the remarkable achievements in terms of the development taking place in the education sector.
“Meanwhile, about 70 schools that are under construction will be inaugurated this year, probably next month,” Minister Maia said in Dili, today.
These schools were built with US$25 million from the 2021 Fiscal Year budget allocated to MoEYS.
Apart from the inauguration of the 59 schools, MoEYS will also launch the construction of another 86 new schools.
