Singapore and Timor – Leste  discuss the alignment of  PS into the ASEAN

DILI, 11 april 2023 ( TATOLI) – Singapore through the General Director of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Raijpal Singh, today conduct a courtesy visit to the Public Services Commission of Timor- Leste, to discuss the alignment of Public Servant ( PS) into the ASEAN.

The President of Public Servants, Faustino Cardozo, said the objective of the Singapore delegation’s visit was to share the experiences and the progress of Public Servants in Singapore and committed to facilitating the capacity building for Timorese Public Servants to become a full member of ASEAN.

“We discuss the Capacity Building for Timorese Public Servant to prepare them to be properly aligned with ASEAN in the future,” the President of Public Servant, Faustino Cardozo, told reporters at his office in Matadouro, Dili on tuesday.

Cardozo added that Timor – Leste through the Public Services Commission had worked together with Singapore since Timor – Leste receive its independence, while around 800 Timorese Public Servant had benefited from the capacity building in the various area such as Leadership, Management Administration, Public Policy, and the other related areas in Singapore during this time. 

At the same place, the Singapore Director General for ASEAN, Rajpal Singh, on behalf of the Government of Singapore said, Singapore will continue to support the capacity building for Timorese Public Servants to prepare them and to prepare Timor-Leste to become a full member of ASEAN in the future. 

“Singapore will always get ready to support Timorese Public Servant in the short term, mid-term and long term to facilitate the capacity building in the various sectors to align with the ASEAN after becoming a full member of ASEAN in the future,” he concluded.
