Dili, 13 april 2023 (TATOLI)– The Bounty Timor Tours Agency (BTT) will guide International astronauts to observe the phenomenon of a solar eclipse in Timor-Leste in the village of Beassu, Viqueque.
Executive Director of BTTA, Platão Lebre said Bounty Timor Tours was following up on information on the solar eclipse from 2021 to 2022. Thus, 26 Russian astronauts and 13 American astronauts have booked this agency to provide tour guides.
“Our Tour Guides Agency has followed up on the solar eclipse from 2021 to 2022. There are 26 Russian Astronauts and 13 US astronauts who have booked guides for the phenomenal event,” Platão Lebre told TATOLI at Landmark, Fatuhada, Wednesday.
Lebre explained to avoid discontent between astronauts from the United States and Russia, The Agency has divided into two tour packages consisting of 26 Russian astronauts and 13 USA astronauts.
The Bounty Timor Tours Agency is also coordinating with the Viqueque youth group Association to provide 32 rooms in the community house composed of 28 rooms with AC and other rooms without AC.
The Timor Tours Bounty Agency has drafted a special request for the Beeassu 2023 solar eclipse by providing a five-day itinerary.
“Astronauts and tourists will arrive on April 18, 2023, and the company has provided an itinerary in five days such as:
First-day tour: Tourists and astronauts will tour the city of Dili, traveling across the potential tourism sites in Dili consisting of Cristo Rey, Resident President Ramos Horta, Dare, and going to Chega in Balidi and visiting the Santa Cruz cemetery.
Day two: We traveled from Dili and visited the Mangrove forest in Hera and shot on the “subaun” hill road. Visit Manatutu to explore the potential of “SANA RAI” souvenirs. Tourists and astronauts will have lunch in the municipality of Baucau. For a possible early arrival in Viqueque, the agency would like to guide tourists and astronauts to visit the hot springs in Cararas Viqueque, and the astronauts will spend one night in Borala’s rented room.
Day three: on April 20, 2023, at 08.00 a team of astronauts and tourists will travel to the village of Beeassu to observe the solar eclipse because the solar eclipse occurs at exactly around 10.00 and the phenomenal event will take about 1 minute 30 minutes.
On the fourth day: Timor Bounty Tourism Agency will guide astronauts and tourists back to Dili.
Lebre said due to the lack of basic infrastructure in the municipality of Viqueque and particularly in the village of Beeassu, the agency will guide tourists and astronauts back to Dili.
Lebre at the same time, recommends to the government put more investment in basic infrastructure to develop Timor-Leste’s tourism sector, generate income, and support the country’s economic growth.
“We have very beautiful and interesting tourist spots and foreign tourists want to visit Timor-Leste, but there are still those who postpone their visits and go to other countries. Our agency regrets that some tourists have decided to cancel their tour to Timor-Leste to see the phenomenal solar eclipse, instead of going to Indonesia, such as Papua, Kupang, and others,” he said.
According to Lebre, so far there have been 23 people from Russia, 13 from America, one tourist from Malaysia, two people from Australia, two from Morocco, two from Turkey, and one BBC journalist as many as 44 tourists and astronauts.
