Ataúru, 27 april , 2023 (TATOLI)– The Minister of State Administration and the Atauro Municipal Education evaluated the implementation of the school feeding program in the first quarter of this year.
The evaluation was carried out through a meeting held today between the Ministry of State Administration and the Education Office of the Atauro.
Director General of Financial Administration, Agostinho Da Costa said the meeting aimed to share several reports on the trimestral implementation of the school feeding program in primary schools and the Kinder Garden in Atauro.
“We are holding an important meeting to review all the activities that have been carried out by the school principal and program implementers to find some problems in the implementation of the school banquet. We will also find solutions to ensure program improvements,” Director General of Financial Administration, Agostinho Da Costa told Tatoli in Maun Meta village, Ataúru, this Thursday.
According to Da Costa, school meals must contain nutrients and must consist of local products such as rice, eggs, green vegetables, beans, meat, and others.
“We have to ensure that all students will consume nutritious food, hygiene and healthy food because this contributes a lot to the physical and mental growth of students and we do it because we want to reduce the number of malnutrition and stunting in the municipality of Ataúru,” He said
The Ministry of State Administration has coordinated with the Ministry of Education to assess student data from kindergartens and primary schools to provide an appropriate budget for the school feeding program in the municipality of Ataúru.
Director of Kindergarten and Elementary School Education, Januário De Araújo said, the school feeding program had been implemented since January 2023, therefore today’s meeting was to conduct a trimestral evaluation to find challenges or difficulties in the implementation of this program.
“We share input to improve the implementation of the school feeding program. We hope that this evaluation can help share input on budget implementation, spending, and also the food provided,” he explained
According to Araujo, coordination is needed between school principals and food supply companies, to ensure the proper implementation of the school feeding program.
Based on the data, the number of students who received the school feeding program consisted of 1,098 students from five kindergartens and 2,287 students from elementary schools.
Meanwhile, each school in Atauro is worth 2,250 thousand USD for the school feeding program.
