Ataúru, 02 May 2023 (TATOLI)- The Ataúru authorities  and the local community discuss five important issues to be implemented through the Program Nasionál Desenvolvimento Suku (PNDS) in 2023.

The Director of PNDS of Ataúru Municipality, Aniceto Magno De Araújo said the main purpose of today’s meeting was to discuss with the local community five important issues that will be implemented in 2023, including Repairing farmers’ fences to protect animals from damaging crops, Installing clean water, Water Stream, Communitarian Market, and School Fence.

“We are prioritizing five important issues to be implemented in 2023. However, this requires an agreement with the local authorities,” Aniceto Magno De Araújo told TATOLI in the village of Mau-Meta, this Tuesday.

He added the five programs are helping the surrounding community to access clean water and protect their local corps. therefore, all the inputs will be introduced to authorities to decide which program to start first.

Chief of Mau-Meta Villa, Filipe Ximenes said, the five programs will be implemented in six months and will start from June to December 2023.

“This year, we received another $.44,000 which will be used for the PNDS program in Mau-Meta Village. Among the five issues, only one will be prioritized in 2023,” he explained.

In 2022, PNDS and school authorities prioritize two teacher occupants, school walls, and school kitchens.

Whereas in the 2023 budget, the municipality of Ataúru received a total of $.44,000 from the government of Timor-Leste and additional funding from the Government of Australia through DEFAT worth $.10,000, bringing the total budget to 54,000 USD.
